In case you were passed out in a ditch all weekend these are the stories that were:
Jeremy Lin continued his astounding run of greatness scoring 38 points and adding 8 assists in a 92-85 win over the Lakers. The following night Lin led the Knicks with 20 points 4 assists in a 100-98 victory over Minnesota. The Knicks don’t play again until Tuesday when Amare Stoudemire returns but the talk all weekend has been concerns over Melo’s return to Linsanity.
Tiger Woods Comes Up Short To Phil Mickelson
Tiger trailed the lead by 4 strokes and held a 2 stroke lead over Phil going into the final day of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This was the first tournament that had people excited about Tiger’s play but he couldn’t keep it together on Sunday as Phil, who outshot him by 11 strokes, over came a 6 stroke deficit to win for the 5th time at Pebble Beach reminding everyone where both Tiger and Phil stand in the golfing pecking order.
College Basketball Top 25 Match-ups
Michigan State (12) ends Ohio State’s (3) 39-game home winning streak as the Buckeyes shot a horrendous 26.4 % from the field. Vanderbilt couldn’t pull off the upset against (1) Kentucky as Anthony Davis led with 15 pts 8 boards and 7 blocks. Missouri (4) showed Baylor (6) who’s the boss of the Big 12 beating them 72-57. Syracuse (2) crammed a lot people into the dome to see a disappointing game against UConn, winning 85-67. The First Week of the NFL Offseason
Gronk goes under the knife to fix up the ‘ol ankle. Hines Ward apparently isn’t welcome in Pittsburgh anymore. And Randy Moss is ready to get back in the NFL, “Faith, family, and football, that’s my M.O., bro.”
A lot of talk about Burnett heading to Pittsburgh. The names keep changing but Burnett said he’s willing to fight it out for a spot in the rotation in New York, not surprisingly.
