So I’m casually watching PTI today when I hear Tony Kornheiser say during The Big Finish that Oil Can Boyd admitted that 2/3 of the time he pitched he was under the influence of cocaine. In an interview with News Radio 1030 Fort Myer he went on to say, “Oh yeah, at every ballpark. There wasn’t one ballpark that I probably didn’t stay up all night, until four or five in the morning, and the same thing is still in your system.”
I can’t help but find this hilarious. It’s unbelievable how different the culture of professional sports have changed since Boyd’s days, which took place throughout the ’70’s. It just goes to show that professional athletes are ordinary people that are extraordinarly good at one thing.
